We are also pleased to inform you that SIBIC 2022 reached an agreement to publish some selected papers presented during the event in the Journal of Applied Ichthyology from Wiley Online Library, a peer-reviewed international journal (IF: 0.892 ).

Participants of SIBIC 2022 are invited to submit their works to this special issue. Papers should be submitted through ScholarOne Manuscripts. There are no APC (excluding the open access option). Further information will be given soon.

Anyway we also want to remember that all members of SIBIC have a 10% discount if they want to publish their MS in Fishes, from MDPI, as a regular paper.

Types of Presentations

The official languages of the congress will be Spanish, Portuguese and English, but the presentation slides (for both oral and posters presentations) should be in English.

Oral presentations should last 15 minutes, including a 3 minutes period for questions and debate with the audience. There will be a timer on the podium and a system of cards (green card – 5 minutes left; yellow card – 4 minutes left; red card – 3 minutes left) to inform the speaker of the available time for conclusion of the presentation.

Please be advised that presentations exceeding the limit of 15 minutes will be cut off by the moderators in the interest of time. A laptop computer will be available in the session room.

Participants should provide their presentations to the secretariat the day before their scheduled sessions. Presentations should exclusively be in Microsoft PowerPoint. No other system will be accepted. Bring your presentation on a USB Pen (CD-ROM are not accepted). The file should be named “SIBIC2022_YOURNAME_X_JUNE” (with X = the date of the presentation).

A computer will be available to upload presentations and test them. An assistant will help you with any technical issues.

Posters presentations will be available for viewing for a full day, and authors will be asked to be available for discussion during the poster sessions. Posters should be formatted to fit a maximum size of standard A0-format (841 x 1189 mm) in portrait orientation.

At registration, you will be provided with instructions on your poster location, and will be given a number. The number will be on the poster board assigned to your poster.

Materials to secure posters to the boards will also be provided. The title and author list must appear at the top of the poster. It is recommended to add a photo of the presenting author in the upper right corner. You can also bring some A4 copies of your poster for distribution.
